Menolyn is a private symptom journal for perimenopause and menopause. Your symptom entries, daily check-ins, cycle notes, medication records and personal notes are saved in a database file on your own device. That data is never uploaded to us or to anyone else — not to a server of ours, not to our subscription provider, and not to our analytics provider. It is included in your device backups (iCloud or Google) only if you have those backups enabled — those backups are controlled by Apple or Google, not by us.
There is no account to create, no email to give us, and no login. If you delete the app, the data goes with it, so please export first if you want to keep it.
If — and only if — you turn the option on, Menolyn can read sleep data from Apple Health (on iPhone) or Health Connect (on Android) to fill in the sleep part of your daily check-in automatically. This is optional, off by default, and you can revoke it at any time in your system Health settings or in Menolyn's own settings.
Health data read this way is used only inside the app, on your device, to display your own patterns. It is never transmitted anywhere, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties. Menolyn does not write your symptom data back into Apple Health.
Menolyn is free to use. An optional subscription, Menolyn Plus, unlocks pattern insights, the doctor-report PDF and medication reminders. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google — we never see or store your payment details.
To keep track of whether a subscription is active, we use RevenueCat, Inc. as our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app-install identifier and the purchase details supplied by the store (product purchased, purchase and renewal dates, country, and device platform). It does not receive your name, your email address, or any of your symptom or health data. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
So that we can see which parts of Menolyn are actually useful, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to our analytics provider, Amplitude, Inc. — which screens get opened, which features get used, how long a session lasts, and whether a subscription was bought.
None of that includes what you write. No symptom names, no notes, no dates or times of your episodes, no cycle information, no sleep or mood ratings, and nothing read from Apple Health or Health Connect. There is no name or email address to send, because we never asked for one — an installation is identified only by the same randomly generated identifier described above, so that two visits from one phone are not counted as two different people. These statistics are not linked to your identity and are never used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Amplitude's privacy policy is available at amplitude.com/privacy.
You can export everything you have logged at any time as a CSV file, or generate a summary PDF to take to a medical appointment, from the More tab in the app. Because your data lives only on your device, you delete it by deleting entries in the app or by removing the app. We hold no copy of it, so there is nothing for us to hand over or delete on request. The only records that exist outside your phone are the anonymous usage statistics and purchase records described above, which are not linked to you by name — if you would like those removed as well, write to us and we will do what we can.
If you opt in, Menolyn can send you a daily check-in reminder and medication reminders. These are scheduled locally on your device. No push server is involved and no reminder content leaves your phone.
Menolyn is intended for adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Menolyn is a tracking journal and wellness aid. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a medical device. Patterns you see in the app are a starting point for a conversation with a qualified healthcare professional, not a substitute for one.
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the app's release notes. Because we do not collect contact details, we cannot notify you individually.
